It is time for the church to wake up, rise up, and grow up in His Word. We have flat lined, and our hearts have lost hope and become discouraged. We've been lulled to sleep, but it's now timeto hear a new song in our hearts. I liken what has happened to the church to a loaded potato. Over the years the baked potato has undergone quite a transition, from a simple baked tuber to whatis now known as the "fully loaded potato." To be "fully loaded" requires adding ingredients to the potato-sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon, and anything else you can think of that would enhance the flavor... As I pondered writing this book, I realized that our Christian lives could become like the overloaded potato. The original flavor or authenticity of the life of Christ in us becomes lost in the muddle of activity and pressure of life. If you were to order a loaded potato and say, "Loaded potato, please-but hold the potato?" We would be left with the accessories but not the coreingredient. We can make the same mistake in the Christian life: "Give me Jesus plus-perfect relationships, more money, more time, more joy, less fear and anxiety." What happened to simply "Give me Jesus"? He is the main ingredient, the One who is the Source of life, hope, peace, and joy.

Peter has published his private and personal thoughts about God’s grace and love to his own soul. It is often said that dynamite comes in small packages. This little book fulfills that adage. It will prove to be a living explosion of relevant and practical strength and encouragement from the Source of all wisdom, Jesus Christ, as it flows into your soul and spirit. You will touch God’s heart of love as you read Peter’s first hand responses to God’s Loving instructions and promptings during his early morning quiet times with the Lord. His deeply personal and practical commitment to, and his undeniable love for God, will challenge you to walk the walk with him. When you know the story of God’s love in his life, you will understand more fully why Peter often says his greatest desire is to finish his race strong for the sake of Christ. His passionate prayer is to live to see thousands of people, like you and me, experience the healing, hope and wholeness of spirit, soul and body, that he received through being committed to Christ.

I was once a pastor of a successful church that grew and grew. At one point in time, it was the fastest growing church in the city where I was. Hundreds came to Christ or returned to him and I had many friends. Then the bottom fell out of my life and I lost everything. I lost my marriage, my church, and all my friends. I walked around numb for months, trying to make sense of it all. But God knew my heart was his and he gave me a fresh start. He sent me the most amazing woman to stand at my side. Together, we went on a journey that is nothing short of miraculous and amazing. There were also many struggles and tears, as well as many sleepless nights. We endured much opposition and persecution. At one point, my wife died in my arms. When I cried out to God, he sent her back. Through it all, God was faithful. He can even raise the dead! Our story is one of relentless faith in God and his ability to do anything. It will make you laugh and probably cry. You will almost certainly shake your head in disbelief and find yourself praising God. Most of all, we hope that you will be like us and find yourself saying, “Only God!” To Him be all the glory.
