German lnaguage dition of Treblinka. Holocaust historians alleged that at Treblinka in East Poland, between 700,000 and 3,000,000 persons were murdered in 1942 and 1943. The weapons used were alleged to have been stationary and/or mobile gas chambers, poison gases of both fast acting and slow acting varieties, unslaked lime, superheated steam, electricity, diesel exhaust fumes, etc. Holocaust historians alleged that bodies were piled as high as multistoried buildings and burned without a trace, using little or no fuel. Graf and Mattogno have now analyzed the origins, logic and technical feasibility of the official version of Treblinka. On the basis of numerous documents they reveal Treblinka's true identity: it was a transit camp. Even longtime Revisionism buffs will find a lot that is new in this book, while Graf's animated style guarantees a pleasant reading experience. The original testimony of witnesses enlivens the reader, as does the skill with which the authors expose the absurdities of Holocaust historiography.

Between the years 1942 and 1943, under the code name Operation Reinhard, more than one-and-a-half million Jews were gassed in the concentration camps of Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka, located in Nazi-occupied Poland. Fewer than 200 Jews survived the operation. Using sources previously overlooked, such as German and Polish official records and testimonies from Nazi war crimes trials, Yitzhak Arad records the complete history of the death camps from their construction in 1941 to their destruction in 1943. He tells the tale of the death camps' inmates -- though many lived only a few hours after their arrival -- the underground organizations, the revolts and escapes, and the details concerning the day-to-day survival of those spared instant death in the gas chambers. Arad's work retrieves the experience of Operation Reinhard's victims and survivors from obscurity and bears eloquent witness to their tragedy.

Although Auschwitz is probably the most well known of the Nazi extermination camps, it is Treblinka which is the most notorious. During the 13 months of its existence, 850,000 were robbed and murdered within its precincts. This camp, along with Belzec and Sobibor, also located in Poland, are often neglected and their history little known, despite being the locations where the Germans killed most of Europe's largest Jewish communities. Here, as opposed to Auschwitz, people were not imprisoned for long periods or exploited as labourers, but were killed off as quickly and effectively as possible. This study by a Polish new generation historian examines the structure and history of the camp.
